Tick Tock awoke in a ruin in the Gray Vale region, with no memories of his past. It has been around 25 years since he awoke amongst the ruins of a past civilization that the world of Toril no longer remembers.
After a cursory exploration, Tick Tock feels compelled to retrieve an improvised weapon and shield, an early indication of his in-grained martial talents. Finding very little of interest remaining in the ruins he leaves in the direction of a gentle plume of smoke on the horizon. The plume of smoke is drifting from the forge of a monastery devoted to Tempus, fearless Lord of Battle, The Foehammer. Tick Tock finds he has the ability to communicate in Common, Dwarven and Elven. It is also here that he discovers that his forehead has a mystical symbol on it which vaguely resembles the Flaming Sword motive of Tempus. It isn’t long before he is convinced it is a sign from the Foehammer himself.
At first helping out as best he could Tick Tock gradually finds that he seems to possess a very high degree of martial prowess, in contradiction to his rather gentle inner nature. It is this dual nature that has led Tick Tock down the path of the Paladin, for the Paladin is always torn between healing those who are wounded and striking down the enemy.
Tick Tock is still somewhat unsure of what motivates these strange beings made of flesh, although he has been awake now for about 25 years. Tick Tock does not identify itself as male as such, but the vast majority of devotees at the monastary were male, so he naturally uses the male pronoun when describing himself.
Tick Tock hates slavery, and will only bear the sight of it long enough to successfully free those he can. It’s a revulsion buried deep in his subconscious, he surmises it’s from his previous life prior to the Spellplague. He loves nature, and other gentle pursuits but tends to leave a wake of destruction behind him despite good intentions.
Wood sections are a deep red rosewood, Metal plating is a dark matte gun metal grey. Tick Tock is more mechanical than Warforged in other settings, gears and cogs are visible through his armor and unless suppressed a subtle ticking noise can be heard whenever someone is within about 5 feet.
Tick Tock’s Ghurla (Warforged forehead symbol) vaguely resembles symbol of Tempus (Flaming sword), although he is convinced it is a perfect reproduction. His Ghurla has also been etched onto his helm, this took him quite some time as he has very little in the way of artistic skills. His axe is half of a large sharpened cog, and his large shield is also a large cog. Both were retrieved from the ruins where he awoke. His Cog heavy shield has been modified to attach to his arm.
Tick Tock’s armour is Black Iron Plate – matte black in colour it has the symbol of Tempus inlaid in silver on the chestplate. After meeting a Dragonforged Captain in battle he has retrieved and fitted a pair of mechanical wings mounted on his back.
